Brand Profile:
Whether it is in the vineyard or in the winery our methods of work are traditional. However, we move with the times and have powerful tools.
The vines are cultivated by the ancient form of tillage, with no chemical weed control. This allows for a better exchange between soil and plant. The harvest is done manually with a rigorous sorting of the grapes both in the vineyard and in the winery.
The wine remains in barrels for a year and are racked every three to four months. One third of the barrels are new each year.
Wine Spectator:
Score: 88
Solid, with a mix of damson plum and blackberry fruit laced with a lightly firm, chalky spine that lingers through the medium-weight finish. Drink now through 2013. 30,000 cases made. –JM
Score:87-89+
65% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. This wine had very low yields of 32 hl/ha compared to a normal year of 45 to 50 hl/ha which helped produce one of the best wines that the property has produced. It has sweet black fruits, with hints of licorice and chocolate, great balance and a medium to long finish.
